Essay Topics and the Structure - The First Two Steps to Essay Writing

Essay Topics and the Structure - The First Two Steps to Essay WritingThe first two points to be addressed are the topic and the structure of the essay. These are pretty straightforward and are in turn related to each other.First, the topic: The topic is the most important part of an essay. Because it gives the essay its meaning, it should be well chosen. This may sound simple, but it's not. Once again, there are no real shortcuts, as is so often the case. In this case, the topic must be chosen based on what is to be discussed.Next, the structure: The structure is the backbone of any essay. The structure is more specific to the topic than the topic itself. It also should be focused on the topic itself. What this means is that the essay will look like a conversation with the topic itself. It may sound strange, but this will work best for topics with one topic. Here is an example: 'For the last five years, I have lived with my mother in South Carolina.'There are no shortcuts when it com es to choosing the essay topic and the structure for an essay topic. If the first two steps are neglected, the essay will lose the power it needs to succeed. A better approach is to take them together. Some essays will need more structure in the first paragraph than the point structure is going to be the central idea of the whole essay. Such as a paper written by a famous doctor. Whereas another essay may already have a main idea, but still need some structure. An idea that needs a strong structure and content or it will come across as a complete mess. The structure and the content must be presented in such a way that it can be read in its entirety. The structure should be based on the idea itself. For example, this might be: 'The idea is to reduce the time it takes for a doctor to treat a patient. When picking out essay topics and the structure, don't forget the audience. The audience is the person or people who will read your essay. As such, you must make sure they understand what is being presented in the essay.
